[W126 Coupe] Batteries

My three cents.

The "best" way to get long life from any battery is to use the car everyday or at least four times a week with rides of fifteen minutes or longer.

Trickle charge, etc. is not the same as driving a car with the battery being charged by the alternator.

Hot weather, temperatures above 90 F(33 C) take a "lot out of a battery," but you only know this when the temperature is below 10 degrees F (-12 C, I think)

keep cruisin

I have a Magnacharge 50 battery that I stole from a Ford Tempo (with the terminals on the wrong sides) in my 300TD (yes, DIESEL) and two years later, it still works fine. The battery is so small that there would be room to carry another spare on the same battery tray.
