That's a terrific idea. However, I would have to find another unattended Ford Tempo.

Bellamy,
If you have room for another battery the same size why not install one. I have two batteries (in parallel) in my ‘99Chevy plow truck so it starts all the time on cold mornings. Then when you pop the hood in public you can proudly point to your “he-man” set-up.

On the issue of trading personal experiences and not meaning to discount any of the foregoing valuable battery advice... I have a Magnacharge 50 battery that I stole from a Ford Tempo (with the terminals on the wrong sides) in my 300TD (yes, DIESEL) and two years later, it still works fine. The battery is so small that there would be room to carry another spare on the same battery tray.

If that says anything at all, it certainly is the most economical way to go.

RKS:
How could a hairy chested driver of an exotic European sports car open his hood in public if his battery was only half sized?...we'll keep your council in mind when we are no longer trusted with anything more than a 300TD!!!

[Said with tongue firmly in cheek :)
