Hey All
alright ive recently bought a 560 SEC and managed to do the servicing needed
and car drive great however there are a few issues:
1) Electric power seems to be weak.. ive already replaced the battery and
the regulator (located at the back of the alternator)... but still there
seems to be an issue. for example if the radiator fan is ON and i turn down
the windows i can sense that that the fan slows down a little bit.. also
when the engine is off the roof light flickers with the red seat belt light.
what might the reasons be.
2) in general I experience some body roll on turns. the SLS seems to be fine
with no leaks, filled up with MB hydraulic oil when i bought it and seems to
maintain the same level. haven't checked the front suspension. If this body
roll is normal how can i improve it. I am looking for 18" or 19" ( dunno
what would be the suitable tires) would that improve body roll?. Also i have
come across a W126 limousine in the scrap yard (as in VIP limo) would it
have better sway bars (front and rear)?
3) I tested it on the highway and was able to reach 170km\hr and noticed 2
things: (a) white smoke specifically at that speed, when i looked under the
car it seemed to be the transmison overspilling but not sure if it from the
filling tube or somewhere else. (b) kick down isn't working. am not sure
when the it shifts at what speed and RPM. I hope you can help.
4) the Engine oil light on the dash is always on. i have replaced the oil
and filter and when i open the engine cap oil is flowing on the cam also the
car drive really smooth so is there a sensor somewhere? also the oil
pressure is a little under 2 at idle one i touch the acceleration pedal it
jumps to 3.
5) I live in a country where temperatures hit 113F easily so regarding the
cooling system. what improvements can i perform. are there dual electric
radiator fans from MB? would i be able to install fans from a different MB
such as W202 or W124 for example ? would that be any good? i wanna try and
use MB parts rather than switching to Flex-a-lite and DC controls but if you
guys recommended otherwise am open for options.
6) i am about to change the fan temperature switch. a common practice here
is replacing the two pin switch with a single pin and connecting it directly
to a pin on the relay. is that correct? if yes which relay is responsible
for controlling the fan and which pin do i connect it to?
7) Again am in a really hot country so i heavily depend on the AC. my
current system has no problems what so ever, but are there any improvements
i can perform ?
I know these are a lot of topics and we can open a whole new forum based on
them. I appreciate your help i want to create an action plan so that i start
a fixing these issues. Thanks again
regards
Yousef
