It's probably location based. Renting a car in Florida is dirt cheap but in
Dallas TX it's expensive enough to where the CEO of my company (an
Australian guy) would borrow my 560SEL every time he came in from Sydney. I
rented a VW Golf for 3 days in London back in the 90's and it cost me 75GBP/
day with the insurance.
