Exactly.

You call them, they give you a price of $800 for example. You agree and
leave deposit. They then go onto www.centraldispatch.com and post your car
for DOT registered truckers to see and they list it for $450. If someone is
in the area and needs one more car, they sign up for it, and broker makes
$350.

If no one is in the area, or offering price is too low, no one responds. So
broker waits a week or so, and then reposts it at $500, and same process
repeats. This is why it can take forever for someone to pick it up,
depending on how much of the price broker wants to keep for himself.

I am a licensed dealer and am authorized to be on central, and it does not
cost me anything to post. So if you'd like me to, I can post it for you.
Usually pickup is fast, it's all professional carriers, and these guys go
point to point quickly without a million stops along the way.
