[W126 Coupe] Windshield Wiper

If the wiper transmission was still intact but the motor itself had 
siezed or failed, wouldn't that still have a firm wiper result on the 
check that was just recommended?

When I had my SD's wipers fail, it was a ball joint in the wiper 
transmission failing due to rust on one the ball, but the only service 
part that is easily available is the motor itself, so I'm lead to 
believe that they do occasionally go out.

I don't have the wiring diagram here at the moment, but I think it'd be 
possible to test for continuity and appropriate resistance through the 
motor where the plug passes through the false firewall, just ahead and 
inboard of the brake master cylinder.
