Where are you located?
I failed emissions on my 560SEL in Vegas because they finally realized that
I had removed the air pump. The emission numbers were fine, it was the
"visual inspection" that caused the failure. I bolted the pump back on,
added a belt to it, and hid the connector in a wiring bundle so it would
NEVER get energized. Passed.
Don't take off too much "stuff" and fail the visual, which depends on where
the car is tested.
