[W126 Coupe] spark plugs

To achieve those Very low numbers and wide spread one needs to add a
considerable amount of friction modifiers. These lessen the
strength/life of the polymers in that the polymer will sheer more
readily then oils with a higher starting number/smaller spread.
Also, the vast majority of the new oils are not designed for our
engines, the OE manufactures all have emissions equipment warranty and
the anti wear additives that our engines require (ZDDC/Phosphate etc..)
ruin cats. The new cars are able to run these oils w/o a problem as
their machining quality/tolerances are Way beyond what is in our engines.
Also, what you wife likely does to her oil and what we do to our oil are
two different things;-) We're I up in your neck of the wood I'd run a
10/30 in the dead of winter.
As an aside, the Fastest I have ever seen pressure build is in a lady's
SEC w/ 285K on the clock (stock worn out heads!) we run 20/50 and 1 qt
of lucas.. Pressure is Instant!
