That seems a bit unusual...it was 29C in Launceston two days ago. Mid 30s is not uncommon ~ around 10 days annually above 30C. It once hit 40C in Hobart, I think in the 1970s.
Tassie is a great place for MB Coupes - lots of open roads and the police only check speeds in the Towns and during holidays (like now). But a recent 'blitz' involved two police at the Southern outlet of Launceston catching 20 drivers yesterday morning. Away from towns, holidays and peak hour one can let the Merc pur along at 150+kph for many miles without seeing another car on the road.
