[W126 Coupe] FW: Gear Shift Lever Removal

Done anyone have the directions as to how to remove the gear shift lever (knob)?  I got as far as removing the wood piece around the gear shift; but, no luck in loosening the two bolts that hold the gear shift laver's stem at the bottom.  How do I get a wrench in place to loosen up the two bolts?  I looked through the archives to no avail.
