[W126 Coupe] timing chain question ?

Gary- I went through the same deal with my car.  First I was told it was the 
timing chain and then they said it was the smog pump ($1,100 new fro the 
dealer plus labor).  I found a used one for $300 and all was fine.  I think 
the dealers have found a soft spot in older car owners called "timing chain 
problem".
