[W126 Coupe] timing chain question ?

just got the call....it was the alternator. that's where it sounded like it was coming from but i've never heard that type of noise come from an alternator. lesson learned...563 dollars later.

You need to isolate the noise to a component and to when the noise is
present as in cold start only, all the time etc. If in fact it's under
the valve cover come back for the list of things you'll need to check.
