[W126 Coupe] Gear Selection Labels: Do they light up?

I had an '85 500 SEL that had no bulb for the shifter select lighting but instead had a fiber optic unit for that service . Go to a dealership and have them show you one on microfiche. Mine was a USA  model but the Euro is likely the same. Because MBUSA decided to not support gray market(Euro) they may decline to be responsible telling you it will work. So look at the picture and then determine for yourself. I think I got a quote for $85 for the fiber optic module but did nothing. Jim Alexander
