Re -Recent German car day Canberra

The G-class with the camping gear belongs to a former (?) US serviceman who said that he had driven it through a fair bit of Africa. Now settled in Canberra for the time being. The red fire engine is one from a volunteer brigade in Germany but how it got to Australia beats me. The E-class coupe on German plates in front of the tent was left here by a bankrupt German businessman some years ago and cannot be re-licenced here.

The building on the far side of the lake is the National Library, the fountain is named for Captain James Cook and the lake named for Walter Burley-Griffin, the Chicago architect who laid out the original part of Canberra - a bit of tourist info there.

Congratulations on the rear console find Jim. I don't believe I have seen one of those outside the two AMG SECs that are about the place here.
