[W126 Coupe] Becker Radio

Ivan;

Before scrapping your Becker.... all your 4 speakers don't work? I assume you mean the problem exists when playing either the cassette or the radio.

The balance control (wheel) front/rear on the center console might be the culprit, and not the Becker unit at all.

All speakers go through that little unit. I had a 124 (300DT) in which only one speaker worked and that one poorly. I removed that balance control, cleaned it as well as the connections and all speakers worked fine. Likely it had been doused once too often with a Starbuck latte. Similar to the window switches, that is one lousy location for electrical controls.

I have an 89 SEC and the radio, AMFM/Cassette, only plays on the right side. I’ve tried every adjustment and it only plays on the right side of the car. Any suggestions?

Also, if it is the Becker, is there someplace I could send this one to and have it fixed or swapped out or something or is it better to just put in an aftermarket?

Ivan
