[W126 Coupe] To Glue or Not To Glue

Hi Bob,
The way I put the seal in was to open the sunroof fully, to try and protect the new paint I double folded a towel and laid it on the bit of the sunroof that does not fully retract, I also wedged it in the gap between the sunroof and the main roof, I then put a 27mm socket on a nine inch extension bar, push fitted the seal in the groove for it, holding the bar/socket vertically with the socket on the towel (pressing down lightly so nothing jumped about)and butted up to the seal, I then ran the socket all along the seal hitting it fairly hard with a 24 ounce hammer.
N.B. This is probably not the correct way to do it, but it did work, also, I suppose it`s only fair to tell you that in my world the annual award for the most valuable tool in the box is generally a dead heat between the bolt croppers and the hacksaw, i.e. you are being advised by a bit of a butcher :-).
All the best,
John Poole.

The sun roof rear gasket came loose after I had the car painted. We did not glue it in. We took the sun roof out for painting and glued the front gasket but not the rear. Can the rear sunroof gasket be put back in without removing the sun roof? Help
