[W126 Coupe] Transmission Adjustments?

Can anyone help?  I have '83 SEC and the shifting is not right.  when it shifts into anyone gear if "revs" a little then goes into the next gear.  when coming to a stop and it down shifts it is kinds of "Hard".  At higher speeds it's not as noticeable.  Can the tranny be adjusted by me or a garage.  Are there adjustments on the tranny to correct this?  Thanks,
