Over the counter stuff is all junk. Check with Larry over at www.carcareonline.com. If you want something that's really old style you might want to try the Harly paste wax (ask Larry about it first though, I've never tried it myself, but IIRC it's the old style stuff). A better wax (easier to apply, more longevity, and better shine) is One Grand Blitz Wax, which he also sells (I know, it's sounds really cheesey, but it's not). P21S wax makes a better shine, doesn't make black rubber white, but it is not old style and it does not last long at all. I've never been a fan of the polymer type things like Klasse. Old tech for an old car I say.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] car care question
Good morning troops,
I'm grinding down to my last can of "Classic" Paste Carnauba Car Wax. This was the Pennzoil product from years gone by. Apparently, there is something in the manufacturing process that makes the EPA very upset. So you know what that means. No more Classic Car Wax from Pennzoil.
My first choice would be to find some of these cans of wax tucked away in someone's garage/warehouse back stock. Next best, what, if any products have you found that really put a classic paste wax finish to your fenders????
I'm coming up empty with what's on the over the counter market today.
I welcome your findings.
Regards,
Paul Niesen
