[W126 Coupe] Classic wax look

Ouch!
Classic wax look? Makes my elbows hurt just thinking about it.
It's my thinking that the "classic" paste wax look has more to do with
enamel paint or non-clear coated finishes than anything else. There was an
older Union Carbide product simply called "Silicone Car Cleaner" that I got
from the R and D dept of Union Carbide near White Plains NY back in the
middle 70's that I became really fond of for older Enamel finishes. I used
it on 1940's Lincoln's , 58 Belairs and 60's to 70's Saabs, Bimmers, and
Volvos. It made them all look great. Unfortunately The stuff is obsolete
since the middle 90's and also went on the EPA hit list.
Now I use Klasse. It's easy and awsome for clear, acrylic, enamels,
everything but boat clearcoats. (not abraisive enough)
BTW -
Does anybody remember a car and boat compound that advertised that it would
keep nuclear fallout from sticking to a
painted surface?? It always made me wonder who would be worried about their
car or boat finish in a nuclear attack.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] car care question

Good morning troops,
I'm grinding down to my last can of "Classic" Paste Carnauba Car Wax. This
was the Pennzoil product from years gone by. Apparently, there is something
in the manufacturing process that makes the EPA very upset. So you know what
that means. No more Classic Car Wax from Pennzoil.

My first choice would be to find some of these cans of wax tucked away in
someone's garage/warehouse back stock. Next best, what, if any products have
you found that really put a classic paste wax finish to your fenders????

I'm coming up empty with what's on the over the counter market today.
I welcome your findings.
