I think you are out of luck there...
The unit is one-piece and not serviceable. You could always try the contact
spray and see if it will work, but I'm afraid the switch is worn out and
needs to be replaced.
It is not too hard to replace, but I think you'll want to remove the
steering wheel and shroud to get access to the part. The part itself I think
is about $200 new, or whatever you can get it for on ebay.
