[W126 Coupe] Air conditioning Issues

Hi Cal:

A short list of questions that need answers first...

What components did you replace on the system prior to evacuation and
recharge?
What refrigerant type are you using? Did you add any oil, how much,
which type?
Did you add a leak detection dye of any kind on the recharge?
What are you using to determine the correct pressures and to confirm
that you have no leak?
Do you have a set of gauges?
Where your 83SEC is outfitted with the GM/Harrison A-6 compressor, can
you see that the clutch is engaged when cooling is called for?
Does it cycle with any frequency or stay engaged at all times?
Can you feel cold low pressure hose up on the driver's fender or see a
sweating hose when the ac has been on for a while?
What is the cabin's center vent temp?
Have you replaced and confirmed that the vacuum elements are all working
properly for the ACC?

Happy to help, but feel like I've done this more than a few times and
wish the questions were answered before anyone asks for help to make the
process of troubleshooting quick and easy. As for the 86 with the Denso
compressor, the same questions apply but the compressor service is
different if that is what is determined to be needed.

Regards,

Dick
