[W126 Coupe] Throttle body wiring question (basic wiring question)

Ouch! OK, learned trait 1: no box cutters. Think I'll try something less
lethal/more dull. :-)

Talbir, could you check something for me (it doesn't involve sharp objects)
- will the wire loom casing melt before the wire insulation? Can I use a
soldering iron with a flat blade on it (something I've seen in craft stores)
to get the casing off without damaging wiring? I'm still in Washington state
on a job and won't be back in Las Vegas for a week or two so I can't do it
myself.

Just won a brand new custom LSx wiring harness on eBay that will make it
much easier to wire up the new engine. I also talked to the Tuner that did
the '98 PCM for the LS6/RX7 combo (where "my" engine now resides) and he'll
tune the '02 computer that matches the LS6 and also add back in the
automatic tranny settings, emission settings, etc. That part of the work is
coming together nicely. I'm having the valve covers for the LS6 powder
coated a bright blue (silver SEC with blue interior) and I've seen
aftermarket plastic wire looms in bright blue. Not enough wiring on the
engine to be garish but at least it will help "pull it together". Probably
get the oil pan powder coated too once I've finalized that piece.

Later,
Mike R.

All I can say is be careful.

Last weekend, I was cutting the casing of a thick loom ..using a stanley
knife with a fresh new blade....ended up slashing my thigh....then ended up
in A&E needing 7 stitches !

Be safe !
