[W126 Coupe] Lowered with 18's but there is a rub

Well as some of you may know I changed up a set of 18 inch wheels and tires to an original 18 inch X 10 Rear Lorrinser's on the lowered 83 SEC. The front are just fine at 18 X 9. I rolled the rear fenders this past weekend after some much needed help from Mike Ramay.

So, at present I have a nice rolled rear fender from 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock. But there is a rub, I get wheel contact and a RUB at about 9 o'clock and maybe even as low as 8 o'clock on the front outer side of the tires. I can roll to the end of the fender (that'll get me to 9 o'clock) but then I have to either shave or bend the lower panel which is the clip on urethane trim all of you are familiar with to get to the 8 o'clock position. I need to clear about 1/4 inch in depth as best I can measure things

Anyone else had to do this? Before I do this last drastic step, I am going to renew the rear subframe bushings and the differential mount to see if that clears up the problem by affording a bit more of an even and firmer seating of the chassis.

The rub only occurs when I hit a dip or bump in the road and can occur at any speed. I was able to duplicate the problem so as to see and feel the point of trouble by running the car at an angle up and onto a curb. So passenger front up results in the rub at driver's rear and visa-versa.

Any thoughts appreciated just in the off chance someone else has encountered this.

Regards,

Dick
