I'll 2nd that. Mine has the pad also. It has one crack now, but looks
reasonable. Only place really to notice is in the air vents on the
defroster.

Hey Ike, 

  The second owner of my 500SEC had installed a Coverlay dash cover at some
point (the car was originally from Orlando) but the Coverlay is cracked too.
Personally, I would have replaced the dash, and that is what I plan on doing
eventually. The "to do" list on my car is becoming a restoration project. Oh
well, it'll be worth it when it's finished, I suppose.
