Chris, Mastercraft Ski Boat in your area might be supportive for an exclusive in in just the boating market. They were very generous to the U.T water ski club. When I was there we got a free boat each year that was an engine rebuild from previous year model. The dues were $10 per quarter and all we bought was gas. I know that Sea Ray Boats are in Knox as well but the corporate strings could be stranglers. The worst thing they can do to you is say no. I had to sign a serious agreement with Westinghouse to never reveal what an engineer had designed for a compressor. It was absolutely pure genious because it was so simple. Just amazing how far out of the way engineering can go and overlook the obvious solution a child would see! They probably got a patent and filed it away. Sometimes new and better things would only upset their business structure and who wants to loose their job if it fails. Just be aware of these walls that can drive you completely nuts. Before you discusss your idea with anybody see if your lawyer has some sort of nondisclosure form for them to sign. Later, Jim Alexander

Hey Chris,
Yeah, I checked them out, Atilla sent me the link to one of the magazine articles a couple of months ago. I try to stay up on the current turbo market, as I'm currently working on a completely new type of turbo, that I'm hoping to get a patent for as soon as I can get a working prototype put together and installed on my test mule (an '89 Chevy Cavalier 2.0l). It will eliminate all the disadvantages of the current crop of turbos, lag, heat, the need for an engine dependent oiling system, among other things. I've had my lawyer do intensive patent searches, and there isn't anything like it even pending, so I've definitely come up with a unique design. I'll be designing models for various cars, motorcycles, and watercraft. Initally, I'll be targeting the sport compact market, as that is the hottest performance market at the moment. Ricers are buying the majority of the turbo kits that are available, and there are almost as many performance goodies for the Hondas and Acuras now!
as there are for the small block Chevys! My problem right now is capital to purchase machining equipment, materials, and time to do all this. I work full time plus about 20 hrs. a week extra, so I am trying to put the funds together myself, but the purchase of a new house five months ago has put me back a bit. Any potential investors out there?
Later,
Christopher Huffine
