[LargeFormat] A better way

I have a Jobo CPE2 Plus. It really is an entry-level processor and is not
large enough to hold the expert drum. However, with the 2551 Multitank I can
easily process 8 sheets of 4x5 in either E6, C41 or Black & White. The only
downside is processing 5x7. I have limited myself to black & white for 5x7
processing, but using the 2840 Print drum can process 4 sheets of 5x7 film,
no doubt this would work for E6.

I love my CPE2, it came with a lift (which I think is essential) and meets
99% of my film processing and printing needs and I also use it for
developing 35mm, 120 roll, RA4 and Ilfochrome prints. The only downside is I
am lmited to size of print. I overcame this by using a larger drum on a
dedicated roller mechanism.

You are right, there is a big $$ difference between the CPE2 and the next
model up, and while I drooled could not justify the additional expense.

Hope this helps

Subject: [LargeFormat] A better way

I need a better way for many things. Some I have improvements underway,
some only need a multi-million dollar infusion of cash, others behaviour
modification, and on some I am truly lost...

On the topic of truly lost, I need a better way of developing 4x5 & 7x5
E-6 pictures. I tried a commercial establishment, I tried a second
establishment, and using BTZS tubes. But am looking for a better method
of developing them in my darkroom. Development tends to be in batches of
8 (remarkably coincidental to the capacity of a Fuji QuickHolder)

I have heard talk of Jobo devices. Reading indicates that these may be a
sterling answer - however my research has left a quandary: regular Tanks
or Expert Tanks. I have two competing predispositions - first a CPA-2
with an expert tank and second a CPE-2 without an expert tank. The 165%
price variation makes me wonder.

I look to your experience, or the experience of those you may know
about, or your opinions unsullied by practical experience.
