Dear Clive,

Bull Creek is indeed a suburb of Perth - named after Henry Bull who came
to West Australia from the UK and entered into an agreement with the local
inhabitants of this area. They gave him all their land and he gave them all
a head start. The RAAF has an old-folks home and an aviation museum on the
site. Thus the Lancaster, the fibreglass Spitfire, and the yard full of
American rockets. ( True!)

It is also the home of Dr. Stein's Frontier and Colonial Photographic
Establishment where daily experiments in the capture of images upon paper
and acetate take place. These experiments are frequently accompanied by
strange words, particularly when Dr. Stein encounters the edge of the
enlarger table in the dark. We are not allowed to repeat these words on this
list as they are WORDS OF POWER and would erase more than your hard drive.

The F&C has just ordered NEW EQUIPMENT, HOORAH FOR THE QUEEN. A Linhof E
and a new set of Nova Tanks to develop 12 x 16. Sacrifices were made to
obtain these new items. You have no idea how hard it is to find a virgin
these days to throw down a volcano. In the end I settled for a retread. But
the new equipment is on the way and I have prised the Schneider lens off the
old lensboard with a wood chisel in preparation for the new lensboard. I
have knocked the ants out of the double dark slides and loaded up with fresh
film. I have stapled a belly dancer to the studio floor and positioned the
lights.

The worst thing is the catalogue. The agent here in Aistralia gave me a
Linhof catalogue and I can't stop myself from turning to the accessory page.
Oh, Lordy I see financial ruin looming....

    Uncle Dick

PS: A general enquiry of the list. I was given a packet of Kodak T MAX 4 x
5 readyloads that were out of date. I tried to use them in my standard
polaroid sheet film holder. I could get the paper slide off the film and the
film exposed but when I tried to reslide the paper cover over the film again
it never went into the original position and in the end I gave up in
frustration. Any hints about how to do this manoeuver?
