Well, it'll be missed that's for sure - no replacement in sight although I 
still have an off/on road motorcycle and sidecar powered by an 850cc Norton 
Commando engine...... that should get rid of any dust in the lenses ;-)  I 
put about 500 hours work into the Landy - stripped it down to the chassis 
and replaced everything that needed it. Am going to adopt the Edward Weston 
approach - if you can't walk to it from the car carrying your kit then it 
ain't worth photographing ;-)

Your Scanmaker E6 will probably continue to do a good job for the next 5 
years.  I haven't yet tried out the Scanmaker 4 but there is no way it will 
do a better 35mm trannie scan than your dedicated Nikon Coolscan. Same will 
be true of the Scanmaker 5.

Guess my off roading will be restricted to using sedan hire cars in the USA 
once a year :-)
