Speaking of the frequency of craziness around us, I heard on NPR this
morning that one in five women in America have an eating disorder. I like to
quote Paul Simon: "The problem is all inside your head, she said to me..."
Eating disorders are in my opinion fundamentally mental illnesses. But it is
like the chicken and egg conundrum--does the eating disorder result from, or
cause, the mental illness? I think I know. It's all covered in my book by
the way.
