**** Lots Of 'Greed' Behind The iPhone <http://www.nypost.com/seven/07182007/gossip/pagesix/lots_of_greed_behind_the_iphone_pagesix_.htm>
by New York Post
Sony CEO Howard Stringer said Jobs is the "greedy" one because he wants a world where only he makes money.
/Funny, but a lot of people are making a lot of money because of the Macintosh and the iPod — and probably iPhone too. Just because Sony doesn't know how to make money doesn't mean Apple is greedy. Sony can always just pack up and go play somewhere else, can't they? Or can Sony make money without Apple?/

**** Be Microsoft <http://davidweiss.blogspot.com/2007/07/looking-back.html>
by David Weiss
I feel like we've lost our identity looking at and comparing ourselves with others. The insecurity and lack of confidence seems to be everywhere. You can see it in the way employees "defend their Microsoft position rather than "jsut tell the story" because it's a good one.

It may not happen overnight, but trust me, the heyday of Apple hasn't even begun.

**** Mac Pro 3GHz 8-Core: New Processor Option Doubles Cores, But Not Performance <http://www.macworld.com/2007/07/reviews/macpro8/index.php?lsrc=mwrss>

The problem with this multicore strategy is that throwing more processors at a job doesn't always mean that the task will finish faster.

**** Minister's Blunder A Cause For Concern <http://theonlinecitizen.com/2007/07/20/ministers-blunder-a-cause-for-concern/>
by Choo Zheng Xi, theonlinecitizen
It is worrying that a minister of state would present statistics to parliament which later have to be corrected by officials from his ministry. This seems to defeat the purpose of having parliamentary debates in the first place.
More worrying is the weakness of political leadership this incident displays: what exactly is the role of the minister of state if he is merely the parliamentary mouthpiece for his civil servants?

**** StarHub Launches HubStation To Challenge SingTel's IPTV Service <http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporebusinessnews/view/289427/1/.html>

**** (Lack Of) Service Standards In Singapore <http://www.mrbiao.com/blog/lack-of-service-standards-in-singapore.html>
by This Lush Garden Within
The number of positive experiences I've had while in China far outweighed the unhappy ones. In Singapore, it's the opposite. Singaporeans should really look towards China and learn from them.

**** MOE's Reply - Numbers Still Don't Add Up <http://theonlinecitizen.com/2007/07/20/moes-reply-numbers-still-dont-quite-add-up/>
by Leong Sze Hian, theonlinecitizen
Is the percentage of foreign students offered places 22.2% (4,218 foreigners divided by 18,999 <14,781 Singaporeans + 4,218 foreigners>)? Isn't 22.2% more than the 20% cap on foreigners?
Dividing 4,218 foreigners by 14,685 total places gives a foreign students enrolment of 28.7%.

**** Singapore Offers Examples For Inter-Faith Relations <http://www.straitstimes.com/Free/Story/STIStory_140797.html>
by Pavin Chachavalpongpun, Straits Times
Singapore's government has put in place a framework for the maintenance of social cohesion, reflected through a combination of law enforcement and social engagement. While Thailand is in the process of searching for an effective way to bring peace and promote dialogue in the deep south, Singapore's success could serve as a valuable example of how multiracialism can truly function.
