Joost re-translated my (poor) German translation of Nikolai's original 
stipulation; second sentence correctly reads:

"Given that White may mate in one, reconstruct the position"

In German: "Rekonstruiere die Stellung mit dem Wissen, dass Weiß in einem Zug 
matt setzen kann."

If you try to figure out the subtle semantical difference between both 
sentences, this might give a hint to the solution, of course...
