Dear retro-friends,

Let me pay your attention to the discrepancy between the wording
of the (2005) FIDE Laws of Chess as they are CURRENTLY represented
(since July (?) 2007) at the FIDE website
http://www.fide.com/component/handbook/?id=124&view=article
and at
http://www.janko.at/Retros/Glossary/FideLaws2004.htm
(or http://www.janko.at/Retros/Glossary/FideLaws2004C ).
This is _not_ a new edition: merely, AFAIK, the former text at
the official FIDE site (slightly) differed from the adopted one...

In particular the discrepancies are concerned with Art. 3.7.d
(on e.p.), 3.8.ii(2) (on castling) and 4.3 (on touching pieces).
The distinctions have been scrutinized at the Chess Chat Forum
http://www.chesschat.org/showthread.php?t=6605 .
Experts claim there that the current text is authentic.

"Doveryay no proveryay" [Trust but check], as President Ronald Reagan
used to say in Russian.
