Messigny 2006 Fairy Study announcement

 

Study (Win or Draw) in Grasshopper Chess

 

Like normal Chess, except for the rows of Grasshopper (see initial position
diagram under)

Pawns may not move two on their first move

Pawns may also promote to Grasshopper.

 

 



 

Nota

A Grasshopper is moving along Queen-lines over another unit of either colour
(the hurdle) to the square immediately beyond that unit and in the same
direction, the square must be vacant or occupied by an opponent piece. A
capture may be made on arrival, but the hurdle is not affected.
