Hello from Yefim!
With interest I was watching your discussion about position when
only e.p.move is possible. So called "e.p. minimal" or other properties
characterize
position "only one E.P." in some details (if we want them).
In connection with this I have constructed the following
position with exactly two moves E.P. and no other moves are possible.
8/7P/5k1p/5PpP/4pppK/6r1/8/8 w - - 0 1
This position have only one indegree (previous move) 0...g7-g5 and exactly
two outdegree, possible moves. A)1.fg6 e.p. and B) 1. hg6 e.p.
Further my thoughts were:
What if a stipulation is: Black had just moved EITHER one pawn double
step OR another pawn double step (no other previous moves possible) and in
each case White must capture the corresponding pawn en passant, with no other
moves possible?
Math task is: to find TWO positions of the same configuration, the same
player's (White) move, the same castle properties, distinguished by Black
previous only double step move made by different pawns in these positions (no other
moves possible) so that possible White move in them is only e.p. move
(respectively; I will be appreciated if someone improves a stipulation).
I think, I have constructed those two positions (with promoted force) and
want you
to check my results. Wait for my next letter.
