[W126 Coupe] Power window motors

Hey Yousef, Nice project. The vibration dampener isn't rocket science. After all, it's just butyl on thick aluminium foil. Just make sure it is butyl and not asphalt. Asphalt shingles as vibration dampeners can be used for a lot of applications, and they are cheap. However, they are not suitable for use in a car, especially not in Dubai, as the asphalt has a lower melting point than butyl and can end up as ballast at the bottom of your doors.

Dear Axel
Great thanks on the advice ill definitely go through it since am already there and do not wish to do it again ;).. ive seen a few posts regarding the attachment points from Junno .. am just worried if am gonna be able to put things back the way it was correctly.
Regarding sound deadening materials.. the the main problem i face in this part of the world is finding materials.. for instance Dynamat, Raamat , etc.. is not available here (Dubai) and shipping would double my costs.. i only found AODEA deadening kits .. some Japanese brand .. i dunno if its good or bad ..each kit costs approx 75 USD and i get the materials shown in the image.. i just hope it works well.. else it would be really disappointing after all the work..
haven't had difficulties with the dash ive reached to the part where is need to disconnect the AC vent cables.. but a quick look showed that it wont be tough .. except for the center sliding cable.. but that isnt working correctly in the first place so lets see how that goes.. having that mentioned .. there is clear evidence that someone has removed the dash before.. broken clips and some double sided tape etc..
Interesting things i found: 1) 100 Yen coin (2) lots of dust and dirt from Japan.. (3) a spider web some where near the steering column.. no signs of life yet..
ill do a write up once am done and have all the photos compiled.. for the sake of sharing :P

Yousef,
I did some sound treatment on my doors a few years ago and if I remember correctly the material on the outer door skin you describe is the MB sound deadening. Assuming you're using a good CLD (contraint layer dampening), such as Dynamat, Raamat, Damplifier, etc., the new treatment will be more effective.
You'll have to completely remove the window mechanism to apply the sound deadener so use the opportunity to completely clean everything and apply fresh grease to the cogs and rails. That should make things move a smoother and faster.
While the stuff is out of the door, it's a good opportunity to inspect the attachment point and renew if necessary.
Good luck on your project.
