Hi Folks
I have removed the burl wood panel it was stuck at the top must have been
some old sticky glue, all looking good except for the previous damage caused
by the over zealous "mechanics" when the car was in in Hong Kong, they fitted
a car phone for the previous owner and broke the bracing bar across the
console together with the plastic locating lugs, the wiring they put in, well
I've seen a bowl of noodles look neater, not to mention their wire joining
methods, roughly twist two bits together and then wrap insulation tape over
it!

I fabricated a new bar from an aluminium extrusion & to replace the broken
lugs which were stapled to the plywood,I glued new plywood to the existing
with "Techniglue"epoxy this gives me greater depth to be able to screw new
fabricated location lugs on. Now for a new problem the vacuum pipes and the
"y" joiners just pop off "if you look at them!!!" they must have expanded
over the years. So now I am not sure where they go as I have the twin wheel
HVAC system which is different to the US spec CD manual, this is a real
worry that the controls will not work properly when I reassemble,so If
anyone out there has any information on this system I would appreciate it.

Kind Regards Dan 1986 560 SEC Euro (220kw)
