Hi everybody
It has been a few months since I posted about my problem with the left rear end sag on my '90 sec. Thanks to all for your input. Because I also needed to replace my motor mounts, I decided to replace all rubber parts and bushings from the motor back to the rear end. At the same time I also decided to install new H&R springs. The mechanic installed all the rubber parts and bushings about a month ago and this cured the rear end sag, but given so many parts were replaced, I did not know which of the components was actually the culprit.
But even though the springs were in the box in the trunk with all the other parts, the mechanic forgot to install them. So I did have the opportunity to drive around for a few weeks before the new springs were installed. The difference is remarkable. The only thing is that the rear end is riding pretty high compared to the front end. My guess is this is because the mechanic adjusted the hydraulic rear end linkage to compensate for the rear end sag before replacing all the parts. Does this make sense?
Also, I need to replace my tires. I am in Northern CA and do not drive it in the snow, but I do drive it in the rainy season. I drive around 250-300 miles a week so I want something that will last. Any thoughts on tires that also won't break the bank? Thanks again to a great group of people.
