[W126 Coupe] Sound system for 500 SEC

Hello,


I found that the simplest way to connect my i pod to the cassette recorder in the car  is with Sony "For Discman" ( car connecting pack CPA-3). It seems to work well for me and you don't have to do any modification to your radio.

I know its a late reply but better than never..

Am in the process of upgrading my sound system too.. I was thinking of switching to a different head unit such as Kenwood and mounting speakers via kickpanels etc.. but at the same time i do not want anything too flashy i want it to blend in with the interior..and am trying to build a good quality system with reasonable bass and crisp sounds
 
regarding the ipod upgrade... my 560 came with a phone dock so i though id mount my iphone and internally have a charger and AUX connected to power supply and HU.. instead of drilling through the original dock.. I replicated it using fiberglass and body filler .. made it a bit wider and it is much heavier but for a first try it is good enough for me.. i bought a fake=cheap IPAD dock and did some cutting in order to get the result shown in the pictures.. also got a iphone car charger and am gonna connect it from the lighter supply behind the ashtray .. now i just need to do some more sanding and then take it to an upholstry shop.. 
 
I have tested the charger works perfectly.. havent tried the AUX yet since i havent bought the HU yet and havent decided on which speaker brand to go for..
