[W126 Coupe] AGM Batteries

There seems to be an impression among some writers to this column that AGM  
batteries are not Lead Acid systems. They are. Further, they are not really 
 "sealed". All the ones I am familiar with have an overpressure vent. 
Should the  pressure inside the battery get too high, due to overcharge, 
temperature or  other factor, and the battery is other than upright, it may leak 
acid although  this is uncommon. IMHO, the only real advantage or the battery 
is its small size  and weight. The more usual battery is a better value and 
will provide the best  combination of acceptable service and price.
