[W126 Coupe] low left rear end question

Tom,

I'll second what Axel said, with a hinge. In my case, the struts did go bad
and didn't leak. Why? Because the accumulators I replaced went bad and I
didn't know it. Should have listened to Jono and bought genuine MB (and
spent $$$). Instead I bought aftermarket and after a year when the ride
became harsh again, assumed it wasn't them and kept driving like that for a
good bit till I finally figured it out. So yes, they can leak, but, if you
drive around on a bad suspension long enough like I did, they can go bad
then too.

New they are expensive. After getting another opinion (I'd call Jono and
talk to him in person, he's knows these cars inside and out), I'd look
around for a good used set. That's what I did - bought them from a fellow
member here with a totalled car.

Best of luck,
Markus
