[W126 Coupe] Gauge trouble

Hi Drew,

One other check besides the chassis ground block at the back of the
instrument cluster is to simply push/reset time on the clock and release the
finger knob pulling it slightly. Sometimes that plastic set screw spring
catches up on the clock gears and stops the clock.

This is more likely the problem...If the used clock has 10+ years on it, it
too probably has the two weak capacitors on its board. Since you already
are experienced in removing the clock from the instrument cluster, go to
Steve Nervig's website and follow the instructions for removing/replacing
the two capacitors ($3) to renew the clock for many years.
