Mercedes 560 SEC   rough, hiccup idle

Started with basics.

Checked spark plugs all good
Took off dist. cap and rotor

Rotor was slightly burnt on one side, discolored, darker than rest of  
the copper edge which is “normal,” But what is normal?
Showed it to a friend who is a good auto mechanic.
      He said it looks  “a little more burnt than usual.” Told me to  
sand down that edge  to get the corrosion off
    Put back dist. cap and cleaned up rotor, car runs great, at idle  
and highway
Got new Bosch cap and rotor and will install later today.

Cap and rotor that are currently in car have at least 40,000 miles on  
them.  Will keep for emergency, in trunk
  keep cruisin
