[W126 Coupe] Temp gauge Illumination

Hi Guys

    Thanks for the information,I will try an LED on the PC board, using a 
meter with lights on should give polarity.Digressing I was at a car show on 
Sunday and an SEC had the rear cover fitted under the number plate it was 
short of the lights by 3/8" (10mm) (same as mine)apparantly according to the 
owner they were designed for SE/SEL 126models with slightly longer 
lights,why MB would do this seems to defy logic?
