[W126 Coupe] Fw: How do you change your alternator belt?

Hi Ramon,

Your 82 should have an air pump mounted below the alternator. Loosen
the air pump bolts to drop this short belt. Then you need to loosen the
bolt on the arm running horizontal above the ac compressor. Then take
an open end box wrench placed on the upper idler bearing arm (you will
see a flat surface where the wrench is to be placed) of the air
conditioner compressor belt and depress to relieve the tension and drop
this belt. That will leave you with free access to the alternator
belt. The two tandem pump belts for the power steering are accessible
after the alternator belt is removed.

As most everyone has suggested, in doing one belt you should do them all.

I am sorry I can't give you the bolt detail on the air pump but, it
should be straight forward and accessible from underneath the car with
passenger wheel lifted, jack stand in place, rear wheels blocked.
