The seat backs in my w126 coupe had a couple of small screws at the 
bottom edge that had to be removed before lifting up and out.

The mirror has a small keeper collar that you have to slide out of the 
handle before the handle pulls to the rear.
With the door open, look at what would be the front side of the handle, 
and you should see the narrow section with grooves in it.
Push that part outward, toward the door and the pivot point.
It should pop out slightly, along with a circular collar that was 
pressed into the handle around the metal shaft that comes out of the door.
