Thanks Jay; as I told Markus I didn't have the system off before starting the car. I'll try turning the system off before starting the car.
Thanks,
Camran

Subject: Re: [W126 Coupe] Heater noise
Is the the heat/ac off before starting the car?If not the blower is on and the blower motor is "starting" to go or needs lubricating.
The blower motor on Mercedes is basically "crap,"
If you were to see and feel the blower motor on a 1976 Cadillac or any American cars prior to the 1980s you would understand.
There is also too much engineering involved in the heater/ac/blower system of Mercedes.
Fortunately the blower motor is not that difficult removal...as in costly time repair. Can do it yourself
good luck

Ever since the cold weather has hit our area (below 32 degrees) when I start the car from a cold start a screeching noise, like fan turning, comes from under the dash in the passenger compartment. As soon as the car heats up a little (after 5 minutes or so) then the noise stops. The noise is there even if I turn the heating/cooling sustem off. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Camran
