It would be like trying to convert a bull to give milk.

The cost to convert an old SEC would probably exceed the price of a brand new Gullwing.

Might as well consider those old heaps for a lawn ornament or give them to your local playground for kids to play in.

I am a retired car mechanic and dearly love my 560 SEC but have to be realistic.
My new car is a smart fortwo it gives me between 15 and 17+ kilometres to a litre of the good stuff while the old SEC gives me 7.5 and I have more fun than a barrel of monkeys driving the little guy. The question is what to do with the old beast?
Here's a good answer for when you feel you have a little money in excess, just take the darn thing for a joy ride and turn some heads, the more time that goes by the more of a rare sight it's going to be and people would say; Wow that guy must be rich, driving a gas-guzzler like that.
We have here in Niagara Falls a huge ferris wheel, they charge $20.00 for five minutes in that darn thing and it's about as exciting as watching the dandelions grow in your front lawn. For that same money I can drive my SEC for a whole hour and that is adrenalin rush galore.
Hey this just gave me an idea, why not build a giant ferris wheel using old SEC's and other old M-B's for gondolas, just hang a big platform in four steel girders just like the way the used to load cars onto ships in the old days and drive the cars on and off when you need to see something different. It seems such a shame to send a low mileage show room condition Mercedes-Benz to the junkyard. Come on guys get on the ball there's got to be other options out there among all you brainy guys.

Merrycedes Christmas to all from Carl in Niagara Falls.
