First, I wish to thank all of you (mbramel, Dean, Markus, Dick, Richard, Jonathan and Bruce) who provided me such valuable data and advice on this question I asked. Very enlightening.

The vehicle I wish to transport is my old Chevy Blazer. It's 39 years old, quirky, rusty, the suspension/steering is a bit loose, and it has no air conditioning. It would be an arduous trip, to say the least, to drive it. I was going to do it, but I'm thinking that gas and lodging would probably cost as much as a shipper. Not to mention that I would have to go back to Seattle to get my car, so would require an extra trip (I'm moving to AZ).

Why do I want to go to the trouble of getting it to AZ in the first place, you ask? Well, it was my first vehicle; I purchased it with my own money out of college. We grew up together you might say. It's been sitting, rusting, for the last ten or 15 years, and I want to have it as a retirement project. I want to restore it to its past glory.

So, Bruce, thank you for your generous offer. I will be contacting you off list.

Regards,
Steve Nervig

From remote locals and to remote locals you are sometimes reduced to dropping off and/or picking up your vehicle at shipping points. Then you have logistics and time and storage (aughhhhhhhh) to deal with.
