[W126 Coupe] painting SEC grille

As you know, my grille is painted white.

 

A bit finicky, but you can remove the chrome by peeling back the tabs attaching it to the black plastic.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] painting SEC grille


Has anyone here painted their SEC grille?  If so, did you remove the chrome and how did you do it?  I got another grille and was thinking of painting it, but a cursory look didn't tell me how the chrome separates from the rest, and with the archives down, I can't search...
