I think you'll need to do a lot more. I had a similar problem on a 500SLC
where it would choke out and stall if the tank got below 1/4. I pulled the
fuel strainer off and stuck my finger in the hole to find enough crud that
my finger could not reach the top of the pile. I ended up flushing it with a
pressure washer which was a great idea but the execution was a little.....
well.... idiotic as I did not pull the tank. It took me weeks to get all the
water out of the tank. It would have been much simpler to just pull the
tank.
Now, not only do I not have the stalling issue, but the car feels like it
gained 50hp.
So pull the strainer and clean your tank out (but don't do it like i did).
